History After purchasing our Baywindow I knew that what I wanted to own was a Split bus so I was always looking the classifieds section of thesamba.com (US) and flat4ever.com (France)... I saw an ad in the french site that made me think... 1967 bus, Westfalia SO-42, nice interior, nice body... The look doesn't like me but I thought I could change it with any problem.
To summary I contacted the seller, we went to Belgium to take a look at the bus, paid it and arranged shipping from Belgium to Barcelona.... and the bus was at home the 1st week of february 2007. I know a not much from this bus, except it was imported from the US in 2003 or 2004. A guy in Belgium owned it for a while and the guy wich I purchased. The bus was imported from California, but no t was a Californian bus. The PO sended some pics showing a Washington State Plate and a girl (maybe a PO?) next to it. The bus was painted in a non-VW two tone paint with a custom roof rack on it. The PO told to me that the bus was wet sanded in Belgium to show the OG Pearlwhite. From the belt line o the bottom it was necessary to repaint it.
You can take a look at my Blog to see all the changes that I made at our Westy, including rising the front, removing squares (interior and roof), fixing tail lights, fixing low/high beam, installing a oil temp sender and gauge and many other things...
